According to WHO, approximately 15% of the world’s population consists of differently abled or persons with special needs mostly living in low- and middle-income countries. Recently, in India, the number of recognized categories of disabilities have been raised from seven to twenty one.
With the new agenda of education and opportunities for all, there is need for a paradigm shift from redressing human rights through remedial and compensatory designs to preventing problems through holistic and inclusive designs of human development.
With the emergent rights for persons with special needs, differently able or Divangjan and legal protection of their rights through disability Acts, there is a need to explore afresh the ability continuum of people for their relevant education and development.
Against this backdrop, Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII) Rajasthan and Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Rajasthan are organising A two day Conference on Disability : Multiple Possibilites and Prospects (Ability Continuum, Diversity, Access and Inclusion) at 0930 on 10 and 11 November 2017 at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur.
