Indo-Dutch Forum on
Smart & Sustainable Port-led Development
0900 hrs, Wednesday, 23 May 2018, Crystal Room, Taj Mahal Palace, Colaba Mumbai
On the occasion the visit of the Dutch Minister for Infrastructure & Water Management, Ms Coravan Nieuwenhuizen to Mumbai , the Consulate General of Netherlands along with Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) are organizing the 1st Indo-Dutch Forum on Smart & Sustainable Port-led Development.
India has a 7,500 km long coastline and 14,500 km of potentially navigable waterways. 12 major and 200 non-major ports located along the Western and Eastern coastlines have so far been responsible for 90% of India’s trade by volume.
There are multiple challenges that need to be addressed and at the same time substantial opportunities that need to be captured as far as port-led development is concerned.
The forum intends to cover topics such as the digitization of ports, dredging, inland waterway development, hinterland logistics, cruise tourism, financing, etc. & aims to provide a solution to further utilise India’s vast coastline and potentially navigable inland waterways to boost trade, spur industrial growth in coastal regions and develop coastal communities
The forum will witness eminent speakers from the Port of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, the World Bank and Indian Industry.
