India is poised to grow at 7.2 per cent in 2017-18 and 7.7 per cent in 2018-19 which in turn is expected to trigger an enhanced demand for energy. The demand is further expected to get boost in the backdrop of rising population, urbanisation trends and mobility. Thus, it becomes imperative for India to evaluate the supply options and opt for a sustainable means to meet the surging energy demand in the country.
In this scenario, the role of renewable energy becomes very critical in bridging the demand-supply gap. Solar rooftop can be a viable option in meeting the energy requirements of the commercial, residential and industrial users. Many states have announced Net Metering Policy and attractive incentives to promote installation of solar roof top.
Against this backdrop, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing a Conference on ‘Solar Rooftop Power Generation & Net Metering’ in CII Northern Region Headquarters, Chandigarh on 26th September 2017.
The objective of organizing the conference is promotion of solar rooftop applications, learning & sharing of good practices being followed by states, exploring ways to install rooftop solar on different types of structures profitably, and grid connectivity.
