India’s steady ascent in Ease of Doing Business and Global Innovation Index coupled with India launching Make in India, Digital India, Start-up India etc., calls for positioning India as a knowledge and Innovation driven economy that primarily count Intellectual Property Ecosystem as one of the key parameters. India’s IP ecosystem has improved a great deal during last 4 years but it is not adequately recognized and appreciated by global community and is often cited by as an impediment to investments in high technology sectors.
In this context, the Confederation of Indian Industry in partnership with Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and Intellectual Property office, India will significantly scale up its joint yearly event on “World Intellectual Property Day” where National IP Awards of India Intellectual Office (IPO) are conferred to achievers in the field. This year, CII will hold a mega platform “India Intellectual Property Convention” on 26 April 2018 on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day in New Delhi to showcase India’s IP Prowess to the Global community.
This convention will showcase India’s top achievers - IP Owners, IP Enforcers, IP Educators, IP Service Providers, IP Judiciary, IP Administrators, and Women Achievers in IP through a comprehensive and inclusive mode, powered by strong case studies and examples.
The global theme of this year’s World IP day is “Powering change: Women in innovation and creativity. CII will have a special focus on women innovators, IP owners, creative minds and other women stakeholders to participate in the program, learn from the proceedings, and contribute in developing the ecosystem.
We are expecting the presence of Govt of India at its highest level at this convention and will reaffirm the global investor community proclaiming the emergence of New India through its robust IPR regime.
