Walkathon on HIV / Aids

CII Bihar State Council on the occasion of World Aids Day organized a Walkathon from CII Bihar State Office to Boring Road Crossing. Walkathon marked an eventful participation from different quarters. To lead the walkathon was Dr. Diwakar Tejaswi, Medical Director, Regional AIDS Training Centre & Network in India, Mr. Alok Kumar, Managing Director, Inductus Consultants P. Ltd, a member of CII Bihar State Council,  Mr. Manoj kumar Sinha, Secretary, National HRD Network, Mrs. Usha Jha, Secretary, Bihar Mahila Udyog, a member of  CII Bihar State Council and Mr. Archan Deb, State Head, CII Bihar State Office accompanying a plethora of around 60 students and teachers from Loyola Industrial School, A.N. College and others.

After 30 years of the global fight against HIV/AIDS, this year the global community under the theme of, ‘Getting to Zero’, has committed to focus on 3 targets:
“Zero new HIV infections, Zero Discrimination, Zero AIDS related deaths”

The participants thus raised the slogan “Aao hum sub hath badhayein, AIDS ko door bhagayein” (come let us join hands and get rid from AIDS). CII fulfils its whole hearted commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

To prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and to care for those affected by the curse, CII has framed an HIV/AIDS code of conduct for industry which includes the development of a workplace policy and protocols for care, support and treatment services. This includes training of doctors and paramedics in HIV medicine, setting up of counseling help lines, developing a biometric Health Smart Card, partnerships with international agencies and formation of a Global Business Coalitions for sharing of preventive best practices on HIV/AIDS.
