CII- Yi celebrates Safety Week by organizing Reflector Sticker Promotion Campaign on 5 January 2013

To celebrate the 10 years of foundation of Young Indians, Yi- Raipur Chapter in association with Sarda Energy & Minerals Limited organized Reflector Sticker Promotion Campaign. Shri Avinash Gunjal, Dy. Director of Industrial Health and Safety, Shri Ramesh Agrawal, Chairman, CII Chhattisgarh, Mr Pankaj Sarda, Chair, Yi- Raipur Chapter were present during the Inaugural Ceremony of the Campaign. The Reflector Sticker Campaign was organized to promote Road Safety among various sections of society and importance of following Traffic Rules for benefit of the industry workers and society as a whole. Reflector stickers will help in spotting the cycles during night time and will help in decreasing the accident rate due to less visibility.                             

Under this campaign, specially designed Reflector Stickers (3M) were pasted on the mudguard of bicycles of factory workers of SEML. Keeping in mind the safety of factory workers who work till late in the night, this campaign has been initiated and it is an easy way to increase your safety on a bicycle by enhancing your visibility in low light or night time conditions. These stickers would be visible from long distance and would aid in avoiding accidents, particularly during nights.

Shri Ramesh Agrawal said that as Siltara being the industrial area, majority of factory workers live and work in the city, Campaigns like these can help in reduction of road accidents due to less visibility during night times or during fog. He also appreciated the efforts that are taken by Yi- Raipur in health, safety, and environment, he said that the blood donation drive in association with Red Cross Blood Bank in different industry premises have contributed 1400 units in just a seven blood donation camps, this shows the willingness of the people to help someone who is in need.

Shri Avinash Gunjal, Dy. Director of Industrial Health and Safety appreciated the efforts taken by Young Indians- Raipur Chapter and urged the industries to take further these initiatives which would help not only the factory workers but also benefit the people on the road to maintain safety.

Mr Pankaj Sarda said that this initiative will be replicated to other industries also, so that the precious lives which are lost in road accidents can be saved. He also thanked Shri Avinash Gunjal, all the CII & Yi members, SEML employees, for supporting this initiative.

Members like Ms Sheen Agarwal, Ms Suroor Agarwal, Mr Vinay Agrawal, Mr Chetan Agrawal, Mr Rahul Agrawal, were present during the Campaign to support and make the Event successful.
