CII Placement fair opens up over 500 job opportunities for young graduates of Uttar Pradesh.

Over 3000 youths from all across UP showed keen interest on the first day of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and School of Management Science's Placement Fair. The fair was held for two days 23 & 24 February 2013 and was organisedfor MBAs, BTechs, BCA, MCA students across the state.
 
Prof Abhishek Mishra, Minister – Science & Technology, Government of UP was the Chief Guest. He spoke highly of CIIs ability to bring in industry leaders for recruitment opportunities for the state's qualified and talented youth.

He further said "industry must continue to engage with the students, any firm that doesnt invest in leadership doesnt invest in the future. We must sustain such efforts"
 
Mr Alok Saxena, Chairman CII UP State Council said that “among North Indian states, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the leader, accounting for 12% share of the total institutions in the country. There are immense possibilities of industry – academia linkages in several areas including placements, curriculum redesign, teacher re-orientation, transforming the pedagogy through technology, new laboratory set-ups, university-affiliated science and technology parks, joint research, and taking the outcome of research to the market.”
 
CII would do everything possible to facilitate in the process of UP reaping the rich demographic dividend through skill development and meaningful employment opportunities he added. 
 
Delivering the keynote address Mr D K Srivastava, Global Head (HR), HCL Technologies Ltd & Shiv Nadar Foundation said "If you get focused there in always an opportunity. Today quality of resources is a problem, it is not the organisation but the language of the customer that needs skilled people."

"There is a five step process for every student to follow -  Learn, earn, grow, invest (in yourself) and harvest" added Mr Srivastava.

Capt Umesh Agarwal, Member, CII UP State Council and CEO, Saamco Consultants said “The fair has been organised factoring in requirements and expectations of the industries, potentials of the students, and challenges faced by them. This imperative initiative targets to generate inclusiveness and provide qualified and talented youth across all sections an opportunity to be a part of the mainstream economy.”

The key employers at the Placement Fair include ITC Ltd, Jackson Ltd., Slocum (a subsidiary of HCL Corporation), Triveni, Dayal Group, PTC Industries, Technical Associates Ltd., TNV Certification, Aircel, MKU, ABG Group, Axis Bank, Eureka Forbes, Datamatics, Netmagic and many more. These companies together reported over 500 vacancies to be filled up through the fair.
