CII Haryana State Council created mass awareness programme on HIV/AIDS through its initiative Listen Learn & Live: Prevention is Cure.

An Awareness session   on HIV/AIDS was carried out in the Gurgaon plant of Mark Exhaust Systems Ltd through the medium of infotainment by CII and its NGO partner Jagran &  Nai Umang Society .

Two Pantomime Plays, Radheysham ki kahani and Mela were performed by Jagran, an NGO working for social awareness at Mark Exhaust Systems Ltd . The first play focussed on Drugs and liquor and how through peer pressure, people especially the youth get addicted to it and the second play emphasized on the different routes of transmission and the myths and misconceptions related to HIV/AIDS.Various queries of the participants were addressed during the session on the issues related to HIV/AIDS and the stigma & discrimination associated with it.

The workers asked a wide range of questions from difference between HIV and AIDS, can it be spread by mosquito bite, reused clothes or by sharing food, several queries related to HIV/AIDS were addressed and precautionary measures required were discussed. The session concluded with sharing of the life experience of a HIV positive person from  Nai Umang Society.
 All the workers of the factory , along with Mr  Pankaj Kehal Head - HR ,were grateful for the important message and essential information that had been given to them and appreciated the efforts of CII and Jagran for throwing light on such a significant issue, which is the need of the hour especially at the workplace.

The sensitization programme was well attended by a total of approximately 200 workers of the factory, who appreciated the session and were glad that many myths and misconceptions were addressed during the interactive session.
