Agro Keventer Rajasthan will install two
units
Jaipur, July 15, 2015. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and
Government of Rajasthan here today organised Agri Commodities based Buyer
Seller Meet at Durgapura State Agricultural Management Institute. State
Agriculture Minister Shri Parbhulal Saini, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated
the meet. On this occasion CII Rajasthan State Council Chairman Shri Suresh
Poddar, Director and Head of State, Mr. Nitin Gupta, Administrator
Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board Shri Dinesh Yadav, CII
National Committee Co-Chairman and Managing Director of the Food and
Agriculture Keventer Mr. Mayank Jalan, Secretary and Commissioner for
Agriculture, Mr Kuldeep Ranka Rajasthan government and other officials were
present. Director General of the National Institute of Agricultural
Management Mrs. Irina Garg, also addressed the meet.
Mr Suresh Poddar, Chairman informed that commodities like cumin,
garlic, Plantago ovata, maize, oilseeds, spices, millet, mustard medicinal
plants including Aloe vera and nearly fourteen commodity producers, 250 farmers
are participating. He expressed regret at the fact that the country in 2004-05,
contributing 19 percent of the agricultural products was down 13 percent in the
year 2014.
CII National Committee of the Food and Agriculture, Co-Chairman
and Managing Director, Keventer Mr. Mayank Jalan, said in his
speech urging the country to remove poverty would enable our farmers, if our
farmers is self sustainable, then poverty will be away. He also emphasized on
development agriculture with food processing.
Director and Head of State, Mr. Nitin Gupta informed about
the program that after the Inaugural Session two sessions, one on maret Linkage
and one on buyer seller meet was held through which one to one interaction of
farmers with buyers was held through which we tried to connect farmers to the
industry.
On this occasion, during his address the Rajasthan Agriculture
Minister Prabhulal Saini shared that Rajasthan State is progressive towards
agriculture produce but due to the lack of available resources in some areas is
affecting the rate of growth. Thus there is a use of holding these sorts
of meangful discussions. He thanked CII for taking up this meaningful
initiative with State Government. In addition to it He shared that we should
certainly give more stress on quality produce in medicinal plants.
He said, Rajasthan is leading in production of sesame, alashi or
lincid, Plantago ovate (Isabgole) but it is very unfortunate that still we
don’t have any processing units and system in the state. Mr. Saini said, our
government, especially the Chief Minister Mrs. Vasnudhara Raje is highly
concerned about the interests of farmers and the efforts in this direction. He
said that with the expansion in agriculture, farmers will emphasize on the
cultivation of medicinal plants. He informed that the farmers should focus on
growing medicinal plants of good quality along with traditional crops. He
shared that agricultural marketing, packaging, greading and value addition will
be in priority. He informed that the government is developing 20 specialized markets
where there stemming crop would ease.

Keventer will establish Agro and dairy processing Units in
the state
On this occasion, CII National Committee of the Food and
Agriculture, Co-Chairman and Managing Director, Keventer Mr. Mayank Jalan
from Kolkata said the Jalan family is associated with Rajasthan since long time
and we want to develop agriculture in Rajasthan Rajasthan is good in
agriculture produce but is lacking in processing of these produce. He announced
for the coming two years and his group will establish a Processing Plant and
dairy plant in Rajasthan. This will receive a direct benefit to the farmers as
well as thousands of jobs will be created.
