The Regional and National Workskills India Competitions organised by CII, are recognised by the Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T), Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
The Workskills India Competitions continue to be an important CII initiative for inspiring and motivating industrial workers. This annual event has received tremendous support from Indian Industry with an enthusiastic participation by skilled workers in the nine trades in which the competitions were held.
OBJECTIVES
- To encourage workers in the industry by recognizing excellence in skill through organized competitions in select trades.
- To promote skills development programmes in the Industry.
CATEGORIES
Category I : upto 22 years of age
Category II : above 22 years of age
There is no upper age limit for Category II.
In Category I & II competition held for following trades:
1. Electrician
2. Fitter
3. Miller (Machinist)
4. Industrial Electronics
5. Turner
6. Tool and Die Maker
7. Welding
8. Instrument Mechanic
9. COPA (Computer Operator cum Programming Assistant)
The Winners of the Regional competitions of both the Categories of 1st and 2nd prize will be eligible to participate in the National Work Skills Competitions.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
Any member company of CII; irrespective of public / private / government organizations from the manufacturing sector.
