The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) has been instrumental in enhancing industrial output, urban centers, and dedicated industrial parks across India. Launched in January 2008, the government’s corridor development program began with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This initiative has evolved into a national program overseen by NICDC, which now manages 11 corridors as part of the National Infrastructure Pipeline of the Government of India.

With such a clear vision, the next steps involve efficient implementation, timely attraction of domestic and global investors, and the creation of necessary infrastructure that supports this vision while prioritizing sustainability.

In this context, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with DPIIT and NICDC, is organizing a conference titled “Building the Future: Growth Strategies for Greenfield Industrial Smart Cities.” This conference aims to discuss the essential steps needed to foster the growth of these industrial smart cities to achieve manufacturing targets and ensure socio-economic excellence through an inclusive approach. It will bring together leading policymakers, state governments, domestic and global investors, Indian industry representatives, and implementing partners to address key imperatives, potential challenges, and the overall impact of this initiative on transforming India’s urban and economic landscape.
