The pandemic has had a severe impact on the domestic industry and despite Covid waning to some extent, the industry continues to grapple with covid-induced challenges. Despite the challenges, the electronics industry has stood up to the occasion and remained committed to further the cause of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
While the industry has made tangible strides recently, the sector continues to face certain regulatory and technical hurdles which have affected the ease of doing business in the country. These include multiple certification/registration requirements for similar products, delays in application approvals and product registrations, etc. On another front, covid woes have also posed challenges in following waste management (both electronics & plastic) guidelines efficiently, which have further affected the EODB levels for the industry.
With this background, CII is organizing a webinar on Augmenting Ease of Doing Business for Electronics Sector on 23rd December, 2021. The webinar aims to identity and address key challenges and gaps in the current framework (along two major contours: technical regulations & product overlap issues; and environmental regulations) which makes doing business difficult along with opportunities required for driving an augmentation in the same.
We have invited Shri K Rajaraman, Secretary – Department of Telecommunications & Chairman - Digital Communications Commission; Shri Rameshwar P Gupta, Secretary – Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Mr Saurabh Gaur, Joint Secretary – Ministry of Electronics & IT; Ms Manmeet K Nanda, Joint Secretary – Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade; to address the sessions.
