Electronics has now transformed from being a ‘vertical’ to a ‘horizontal’ and now a ‘meta resource’, due to its wide usage and applicability across sectors coupled with rapid digitisation taking hold the world over. This has resulted into making electronics one of the fastest growing industries globally.
In line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister and the National Policy on Electronics (2019), Electronics has emerged as one of the sectors in India which has fully embraced the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission and can effectively be called as one of the country’s bellwether sectors for manufacturing. The advent of Covid-19 and the urge to diversify supply chains have given India a favourable leverage to leapfrog as a major global Electronics manufacturer and exporter.
While the Government of India has given substantial push towards this sector, there still remains considerable room to realise the potential of serving domestic and global electronics markets alike, especially during the Amrit Kaal.
With this context, CII is hosting the 5th Edition of its Global Electronics Summit themed on Towards $300 Billion: 4x4 on either 13th or 14th of October’22 in New Delhi. We are awaiting confirmation from Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar (Hon’ble Minister of State – MeitY) to finalise the date.
The Summit will see deliberations on key enablers which will help Indian Electronics industry gear up to the next level. The Summit will also witness the launch of CII-NCAER report on Building India’s Electronics Export Competitiveness – 2025-26, From Assembly to Manufacturing Hub. This Call-to-Action report would chart India’s electronics exports and explore a feasible way forward to supercharge the same.
