India Design Summit would focus on social sector to deep dive in the sector specific aspects and applications of design. Social sector in India includes several important components such as education, health and medical care, water supply and sanitation, poverty alleviation, housing conditions etc. that play a vital contribution in human development. Investments in social sector have been the measure of the value system of an economy which fosters philanthropy, social safety net, social business, social entrepreneurship etc. Due to the rapidly globalizing competitive marketplace coupled with an increasing need to enhance quality of life at the grassroots level, the policy makers in India are slowly but surely setting the social sector on the reform track.
The summit will address the need of focusing on augmenting design strategies to cater to the problems of social sector to create better quality of life. The initiative is aimed at driving the development of rural as well as urban sector while addressing the needs of the bottom of the social pyramid. The summit presentation will emphasize on having in-depth case-studies on design interventions in the social sector.
This year summit will be held in Goa on 20-21 September, 2019.
