We at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) share the vision of the Government of India to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy target by 2030 and are committed to work closely with the government to make
it happen. The renewable energy sector has received substantial attention from stakeholders from around the world along with an excellent growth pace in terms of capacities linked with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), fall in tariff, additional allocation of funds for Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme in the union budget FY23, policy framework for DRE (Decentralised Renewable Energy) Livelihood Application and the recent notification on Green Hydrogen/ Green Ammonia Policy. It is encouraging for the sector that the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) is looking at a holistic development, including the building of a strong and vibrant supply chain within India.
The Second Edition of Digital Conference and Exhibition of “AatmaNirbhar Bharat” was held in July 2021 with the focus on Self Reliance in RE manufacturing.
The conference had extensive participation from senior ministers from India and overseas, Industry leaders and policy makers around the world. The event was well received with 100+ speakers, 60 + exhibitors, 7000+ delegates across 25 countries and 25+ global speakers. A report on “AatmaNirbhar Bharat – A Roadmap for Self-reliance in RE Manufacturing” was developed in partnership with PwC and it covers in detail long term policy and regulatory requirements which would aid in catalysing a strong indigenous market.
To continue the dialogue, CII is planning to organize the Third Edition of Conference & Exhibition on “AatmaNirbhar Bharat – Making India Manufacturing Hub for Renewable Energy” on 14th -15th July 2022
