The Indian Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Programme, launched in 2011 by Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), has undergone significant evolution since inception, setting newer standards to secure and facilitate the growing flow of goods in global trade. Today, with around 6,000 AEO entities onboard, the program enables a strong partnership between economic entities and Indian Customs, improving supply chain security. It offers benefits like Direct Port Delivery, Deferred Duty Payments, and faster clearances through a Risk-Based System, leading to smoother, quicker goods movement and cost savings for the trade community. With India’s growing Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) with a number of important trading partners, the programme is becoming even more attractive for members. CBIC, has been partnering with important of stakeholders, like Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), to promote the programme and make it even stronger.
In a spirit of public-private partnership, CBIC, in collaboration with the CII, is organizing the CBIC-CII National Conference on Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) on April 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by lunch, in New Delhi.
