Buyer-Seller meet organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Government of Mizoram and National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) in commemoration of World Bamboo Day on 19th September 2018.
The conclave saw deliberations by experts, industrialists, advisors, buyers and enablers – for both crafts and processed bamboo from across the Country at Aizawl. It also deliberated exploiting the huge bamboo resource of Mizoram, under various efforts, forms and schemes of the Government of Mizoram, Ministry for the Development of North Eastern Region, North East Council and National Bamboo Mission.
Experts highlighted that Mizoram Bamboo Texture and quality are the best compare to other Bamboo where we have to find a way in exploiting outsourcing the green gold where we sit upon.
On the side lines, for the overall development of the state blessed with qualified people and diversified resources, National Research Development Corporation has shared their service offerings for promoting enterprises, including bamboo in the state.
The conclave deliberated on private sector participation & secondary usage of bamboo in Mizoram ranging from nursery, Plantations, crafts & furniture, housing and various industrial products like Bamboo Board, Bamboo wood etc., and the need for securing the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for accessing international market. Buyers like Dalmia Bharat, Nanoply, etc. participated in the B2B meetings with the prospective entrepreneurs in the bamboo sector in Mizoram.
