’India is going to be ahead of the rest of the world in the e-ICU and remote radiology space’’

24 September 2021. Chennai. To build a 5 trillion $ economy significant contributions are to be made by organisations said Mr S Gopalakrishnan, Past President of CII & Chairman, Axilor Ventures at the special plenary session of  Mystic South – ‘‘Building an Exemplary Enterprise’ organized by CII Southern Region through a virtual platform.

He said that these organisations will be purposeful, world class, innovative and have high growth & longevity.  Business acumen, profitability, technology, innovation and a vision to stay relevant for the future all need to come together to create a world class enterprise. Mr S Gopalakrishnan also said that Healthcare is important in job creation perspective in the coming future, high number of jobs are going to be created in the healthcare sector.  

Dr Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Group & Managing Trustee, Apollo Hospitals Educational Trust said in close to 40 years Apollo has been constantly changing and the agility has always helped. The commitment to vision, innovation, consistent adoption of technology, focus on clinical outcomes and community is what helped build the enterprise. “We are Innovative, so we are able to do so much with little, making health care services in India 1/10 of the charge of the western world” said Dr Preetha Reddy.

On discussing the balance of business objectives and the caring factor she said that enterprises are ''responsible of all stakeholders to address this, they need to be conscious and cognizant of the waste in the system’’ She also encouraged models to evolve in the public private partnership dimension to remove the sense of divide between public and private sector.  

On the learnings from the pandemic, Dr Preetha Reddy said that Digital technology helped integrate and standardize care protocol. A challenge that was faced and needs to be converted to an opportunity is the lack of manpower in the healthcare sector. She also shared that with the progress being made in innovation and technology, ‘’India is going to be ahead of the rest of the world in the e-ICU and remote radiology space’’.
