Mr Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder & Chairman, Ola Group had stated that at the very beginning itself they were very curious enough to learn about the mobility industry and its need, which helped them scale up to the global level. Mr Aggarwal was sharing his inspiring journey of an entrepreneur at the second session of the Global Unicorn Interaction Series, an initiative by the Future Business Group (FBG) of CII and Young Indians (Yi) in partnership with SoftBank India. The interaction series has been designed to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurs and guide them to emerge as the next unicorn. The series will witness the participation of global unicorns from Australia, EU, India, Israel, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and USA to share their journeys towards the unicorn glory.   

 Talking about the conviction required for entrepreneurship, Mr Aggarwal had suggested that an individual should be true to himself and should go ahead with his ambition. He further pointed out that with a large domestic market, good capital access, and technology talent ecosystem, Indian companies can pave the way for future technologies and new paradigms and set the standards for the future. Ola has diversified its business into four verticals namely, Ola Cabs, Ola Electric, Ola foods and Ola Financial Services.

While addressing the audience over a digital platform today, Mr. Manoj Kohli, Chairman, CII Future Business Group & Country Head, SoftBank Group International, India emphasized on Indian ethos and applauded the success story of Ola by saying that it is a true motivation for every entrepreneur to book success in their entrepreneurial journey.

 Briefing about the CII’s Future Business Group initiative, Ms Smita Agarwal Yi National Vice Chair highlighted the synergy between Yi & FBG with the focus on entrepreneurship and building a strong ecosystem for the future of our country. She further briefed about Yi, which is a very dynamic and vibrant organization of over 3,000 young entrepreneurs, and professionals from all walks of life.

The CII’s Future Business Group (FBG), that comprises of brilliant young leaders of India’s most successful new-age businesses, was officially launched on 3rd September by Hon’ble Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Railways, Government of India.

FBG aims to curate an enabling, and conducive ecosystem that plays an encouraging role in the realization of many new-age businesses, and thus accelerates the way for the novel businesses to bloom in India.

One of the significant initiatives under the group is the Global Unicorn Interaction Series being organized in partnership with Yi and SoftBank India.

Each session in the series is focused around a talk on how a bootstrap start-up could transform to a unicorn, followed by their mantra for success, the driving factors, and provide valuable insights on way ahead for future unicorns.

The first session was held in October with Mr Ritesh Agarwal of OYO.
