The National Education Policy will also be implemented by 2025 and we are focusing on character building, transparency and putting poor families first in order to reduce the income gap through various policies and initiatives, he further mentioned.

Haryana’s transformative journey has seen increased literacy including digital literacy and lower poverty rate. This was stated by Shri V Umashankar, Principal Secretary to the CM, Government of Haryana. This along with rising urbanization, has propelled the state’s growth in leaps and bounds. The state has seen growth in social, economic, industrial and sports areas in the recent years. It has shifted from an agriculture led economy to a services sector led state. Gurugram is synonymous to an IT hub today. Despite being a land locked state, Haryana has been one of the highest exporters from north India.

“During the second wave of the pandemic, Haryana was able to cater to the healthcare needs of various neighboring states such as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The recent progress and increase in healthcare spending is the vision of the CM that every district should have a medical college, the effects of which will be seen in the years to come,” he further added.

The new focus areas of the Haryana government include foreign cooperation, MSMEs, cluster development and Women & Child Development. Initiatives such as the CSR Portal, Antyodaya-SARAL, Parivar Pahachan Patra and CM Window are all themed around Ease of Living with minimum government and maximum governance, he said.

While moderating the session, Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Past President, CII and Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises, said that the Government of Haryana has taken great initiatives in industrial manufacturing, automotive and ancillaries, with production of two thirds of India’s passenger cars, 50 per cent of tractors and 60 per cent of motorcycles which are a testimony to the Ease of Doing Business and investment friendly policies.

As we move towards an AtmaNirbhar Bharat that is more resurgent and stronger, State governments will need to up the ante at their end in order to meet the vision of India@75 and a USD 5 Trillion Indian Economy by 2030.
