Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region is proud to launch the 2010 edition of its “Excellence Award in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)”. Sustainability and productivity are the buzz words in the industry today. A sound Environment, Health and Safety practice is a prerequisite for organizations to be sustainable and scale new heights of productivity. Continuous improvement and implementation of best EHS practices is paramount to the success of modern day organization. The aim of this award program is to sensitize, facilitate, motivate and recognize corporates’ to adopt innovative practices in EHS.

In order to facilitate greater interaction and learning, the jury would visit the participating organization for the assessment. During the visit, the jury would assess the organization on the following parameters of EHS:

  • Policy
  • Statutory requirements
  • Risk Assessment
  • Objectives & Targets
  • Performance monitoring
  • Management Focus
  • Organization, structure and responsibilities
  • Training & Competencies
  • Emergency Prevention and Response

You have the opportunity to win one of the following Awards :


  • Top 3 in the Large-scale Organization Category (> Rs 500 Cr Turnover in year 2009-10)
  • Top 3 in the Medium-scale Organization Category (Turnover between Rs100 Cr and Rs 500 Cr in year 2009-10)
  • Top 3 in the Small-scale Organization Category (< Rs 100 Cr Turnover in year 2009-10)
  • Commendation Certificate for Significant Achievement for organizations surpassing threshold score in the assessment as decided by the jury.
