R. Shankar
R. Shankar has over 30 years of experience in leading Automobile and Engineering companies in India. His experience spans functions such as Product Planning, Marketing and Branding, Supply Chain and Logistics, Business Development, and Corporate Affairs including Legal and Government Affairs.
Shankar commenced his career with Godrej and Boyce in their Industrial Products Division. Thereafter he moved to the Eicher Group where he worked with the Two Wheeler Division and The Engines Business Unit. Shankar left Eicher as the Head of Sales and Marketing for the Engine Unit.
In his long association with Tata Motors Shankar held various roles in the Sales and Marketing team. He started with Dealer and Organisational Development Division of Commercial Vehicles Business Unit and later moved on to Head the Southern Region for all their Commercial vehicle Businesses.
Subsequently he was elevated as Head of the Commercial Passenger Vehicle- Line of Business where he handled the entire range of commercial passenger vehicles
In 2010 he moved to Beiqi Foton Motors at Beijing who had set up a small team to evaluate opportunities for Foton in the Indian market. Having done the initial strategic plan for the company's entry into the Indian market, he then moved on to India to set up the team, form legal entity and finalise the location for investment into India. He was on the board of their Indian entity as Managing Director.
Currently Shankar is the CEO India Operations of TVS Logistics Services Limited one of India's fastest growing 3 PL companies which provides supply chain solutions across industries like Auto, Pharma, Engineering, Technology companies and FMCG.
