CII National Competition on Low-Cost Automation (LCA)
CII Institute of Quality, in 2018 established the “CII National Competition on Low-Cost Automation (LCA)” to support the "Make-in-India"; “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaign of Govt. of India, by enhancing the competitiveness of Indian Industry in the global market. Key focus is to recognise and motivate MSME Sector companies for recognition and motivation the culture of adaptation of Low-Cost Automation or Value Automation or Just Right Automation to enhance profit. This competition catalyses the widespread adoption of LCA practices across Indian Industry through sharing best case studies. This competition focuses on core technical concepts / innovative ideas resulted in improvement in PQCDSM (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety & Morale) and hence improving on organizational profit. Low-Cost Automation Awards are being held twice a year and presented in six categories (Productivity Improvement, Karakuri Kaizen, Quality Improvement, Poka-yoke, Set-up Change (SMED), Safety & Energy and Low-Cost Digitalisation. From Dec 2018 to Dec 2022, total seven round of competitions completed successfully. Low-Cost Digitalisation is being added in 7th edition of LCA Competition.
