Indian aviation sector has grown tremendously in the last decade with the opening up of Indian skies for the private sector and advent of low-cost airlines. Growing at a CAGR of 14% over the period from 2004-05 to 2012-13 it is now the ninth largest aviation market in the world. Domestic passenger traffic reached 122.43 million in 2013-14 registering a growth of 5.2% over the previous year.
