CII Design initiatives are focused in the following areas: Competitiveness of Industry by Design-Branding / Promotion of Design through Media, Design Education, Design for Culture, Society & Environment and Implementation of Design Policy. Some of the ongoing activities of CII Design are CII Design Excellence Awards, CII Young Designer Awards, CII iDesign Program, CII Design Talk Series, CII India Design Summit, CII Design Rating System, National Design Policy, Design Publications & Reports, CII Design Hackathon, etc are the initiatives currently being executed in CII Design.
CII works across diverse industry sectors to raise efficiency, productivity, excellence, and sustainability and customize global best practices in Education, Training, Human Resource Development, Industrial Relations and Corporate Governance, to enhance Indian enterprise at the firm as well as at the sector level. The importance of strategic use of design for competitive growth in nations has been emphasized throughout the world. Many governments are developing and implementing design policies and promotion programs not only to boost their industry and business competitiveness, but also to increase awareness of design in public sectors, even to solve complex social issues such as public health, crime, energy saving, aging society, and so on. Several studies have shown a strong interrelationship between national competitiveness and design.
