Young Indians, Visakhapatnam Chapter organized its 11th Annual Session on “Becoming Agents of Change – Right time” on 7 February 2020 in Visakhapatnam.

Mr MSK Prasad, Chairman, Selection Committee, Board of Control for Cricket in India shared stories of Indian cricketers on determination in times of crisis. He also reflected on his own journey as the first cricketer from Andhra Pradesh to be selected in the Indian Cricket Team. This was a good example for youngsters to take up challenges even in an uncharted path.

Ms Smita Vallurupalli, Singer / Entrepreneur was received with a rousing welcome by the participants. She spoke about her new project to engage youth in bringing about change the society. The TV show and app is poised to register change makers, through who she would be able to bring to light social issues and solutions that could make a larger positive impact in the world around.

Mr Ananta Sriram, Lyricist was a natural inspiration to the students as many of them have listened to his music. He spoke about his own transformation and success story, emphasizing that change had to begin with oneself before cascading to the people around. Using his wit and ability to knit meaningful lines, he created a belief in participants to become change agents.

Mr Abanis Nayak, Yi Chapter Launch Champion-East spoke on the roles and responsibilities of Young Indians in Nation building and also how Yi is playing an active and important role in working with all the stakeholders in shaping the young minds of India to participate in this journey.

Mr KVV Raju, Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam Zone has reiterated the need to take more initiatives in the coming year between CII and Yi by working together in a more productive manner and by engaging more youth. He has also mentioned about the hard work, unflinching commitment and efforts undertaken by the Young Indians Visakhapatnam Chapter. Sharing his views, he informed that the time is changing fast in this disruption age. Hence it's time to unlearn & relearn. Youth needs to adapt to change.

Prof K Siva Rama Krishna, Vice-Chancellor, GITAM University advised that students need to become the agents of change. He was happy that the event was held at GITAM and that it gave the students a chance to witness the functioning of a good voluntary organization.

Mr Pavan Krishna Kosaraju, Chair, Young Indians (Visakhapatnam Chapter) welcomed all the speakers and made a detailed presentation on the activities of Young Indians Visakhapatnam Chapter for the year 2019 – 20. During his presentation, he mentioned the highlights and milestones of Young Indians Visakhapatnam Chapter and achieved during his term. He praised the support received from his team members. He also mentioned that there was a huge improvement in the number of program organized in terms of quality & versatility.
