02 March 2019, Visakhapatnam: CII Visakhapatnam Zone Annual Meeting was held today.
Mr K V V Raju, Chief Executive Officer, Granules Omni-Chem Pvt Ltd , appointed as Chairman of the CII Visakhapatnam Zone for the year 2019-20. He has pursued Master of Pharmacy, (M. Pharm) and Post Graduate Diploma in Sales & Marketing Management. During the journey, he acquired work experience in critical geographies like Moscow in Russia, Shanghai in China, Johannesburg in South Africa also in various parts of India like Gurgaon, Chennai & India. He has also worked with leading Global Pharmaceutical Organizations engaged in Formulation Manufacturing, Green field Pharmaceutical projects, Joint Ventures Operations in Russia & China and Product Development & International Marketing Operations.
Mr J Srinivas Raju, Managing Director, Geomarine Dynamics Pvt Ltd, appointed as Vice Chairman of the Zone. He has over 20 years of experience in execution of investigations for proposed ports and harbor, preparation of detailed project reports, investigations for development of port facilities which includes EIA and CRZ studies. He has received numerous Awards such as Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award – 2010, International Gold Star Millennium Award at the conference of Indo – Thai Friendship & Economic Cooperation at Bangkok, CIDC Vishwakarma award from Planning commission of India.(Govt.of India) & Vishala Bharati Gaurav Satkar for the year 2011 , From DTA Delhi. He has also published Technical Papers in Various Technical Journals on Offshore Engineering, Geotechnical, Geophysical and Defense Technologies.
On the occasion of this special day, CII Visakhapatnam Zone also organised a Session on "Leadership in Adversity".
Addressing the august gathering, Mr M T Krishna Babu, IAS, Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust advised to prepare the team to face the adversity because it is the teamwork which make it happens. He also mentioned that though we are in a digital world, at the end, we the humans to take the decision. Identifying team members' strength is of utmost importance to sail the ship at adversity.
Mr Amit Garg, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, CID, Andhra Pradesh stated that if everybody of the team is on the same page, then things become easier & one must distinguish between bona fide or mala fide. He also informed that ownership & decision making are 2 important pillar of leadership. Yes, we should learn from mistakes & we should introspect every situation.
Mr M Hari Narayanan, IAS, Commissioner, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation told that every adversity gives an opportunity to learn. He was of the view that delegation & capacity building is something very very important in leadership. These things really help at the time of adversity.
Professor M Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM - Visakhapatnam has advised to put emphasis on VUCA which will helpful in changing oneself & people around. During his address, he told that winners never quit & quitters never win, hence adversity is the time, when a true leader shows his true character.
Mr D Sunil Reddy, Managing Director, Dodla Dairy Ltd sharing his experience mentioned that adverse times make a different man. It is a great time to transform. He also shared how he became a successful entrepreneur after numerous failed attempts in different ventures.
