15 companies received the Climate Action Recognition at the fourth edition of the CII Climate Action Awards (CAP 2.0°)
Commending the winners of the fourth edition of CII Climate Action Programme 2.0° awards, Shri Dinesh Dayanand Jagdale, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, highlighted, “it is very heartening to see a diverse set of industries together on this platform, talking about climate action and what industry can do to mitigate, sharing about implementation of climate initiatives and talking about taking the hard line in regards to climate-related investments into the corporate strategy.” He was speaking at the CII CAP 2.0° Awards Ceremony organized in New Delhi on 08 March, 2024.
Sharing his views on Industry initiatives in renewables, he remarked, “the Ministry has been bringing in different reforms and policies to help the Industry grow their energy mix and it is commendable to see how in the last few years, the efforts have materialised not just in the renewable energy mix but also in the overall energy portfolio of the Industry.”
Mr. Ravi Singh, Secretary General & CEO, World Wide Fund for Nature India, (WWF) congratulated the winning organizations for the commendable work and for continuing the transition journey. Talking about the programme’s success he shared that more than 90 large organizations have come forward in the last four years for the assessment. “One very important aspect of the programme is feedback reports which are provided to every applicant; this is an important value add as it helps companies to understand the strengths and areas and thus improving their processes,” he added.
Sharing her thoughts on climate actions, Ms Seema Arora, Deputy Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry, shared, “policies led by the Government of India and by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the other ministries has given CII Members and Industry the correct direction for leading climate action in their respective organizations.”

About CII Climate Action Awards (CAP 2.0°)
The CII Climate Action Programme (CAP) 2.0°, a recognition programme to recognize business actions in combating climate change, was introduced by CII in 2018 in partnership with DSM. Through this assessment, CII acknowledges the climate actions taken by the Indian Industry.
In the fourth edition of CII CAP 2.0, 20 large organizations participated in the assessment. The applicants underwent a rigorous evaluation process that included on-site assessment by CII-certified assessors. Spread over a period of six months, each application was assessed methodically (nearly 700 man-hours per application) and the final list of awardees was validated by a distinguished Jury comprising of representatives from the Government, Civil Society and Academia.
