Indian Corporate Cricket League – A CII Initiative

“Sports plays a crucial role in bridging gaps in competitive environments and is a great medium for bonding and building networks amongst the industry members: Mr Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation, at the Inaugural edition of the ICCL”

The First edition of the Indian Corporate Cricket League was kicked off today by Confederation of Indian Industry at the Wisteria Sports Club in Gurugram. The limited overs Cricket League for Corporates is being organised in a T10 and T20 format across 5 states with over 65+ teams across India. After the completion of all tournaments in 5 states namely Delhi - NCR, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat, the league will culminate with the National finals once again in Gurugram in June 2023.

Mr Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation Flagged off the League and mentioned “The importance of being outdoors and playing Sports for Corporate executives is very underrated. Sports can teach values such as fairness, teambuilding, equality, discipline, inclusion, perseverance and respect and facilitates the building of strong bonds that translate to the workplace well. I therefore applaud the CII team for coming up with this outstanding initiative at a national level which I hope will continue for years to come.”

The ICCL is the only league also focusing on Diversity and Inclusion with a provision of including women players included in the 15-member team.

The objective behind the inception of the league is to give opportunities to Sports enthusiasts in Corporate Offices to come together as teams, boost employee morale and also to provide these Sports enthusiasts with an opportunity to showcase their Sporting abilities for their respective organizations.

This initiative has been supported by Cilicant Active Packaging, TVS Motors, Welspun, Blue Star, Tata Steel, Apollo Hospitals, Cosco India, Fast&Up and Kragbuzz and MyySports
