MNRE minister unveils "Energy Transition for Viksit Bharat 2047" Report and ETIM 2.0 Dashboard
Import capability of states for RE should increase to 60% of peak demand: CII report
Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Mr Pralhad Joshi today unveiled a CII report Energy Transition for Viksit Bharat 2047. The report recommended that the government should increase the import capability of each state to at least 60 per cent of its peak demand. This approach ensures that states with limited generation capacity can meet their electricity needs by importing power from other regions or neighbouring states.
The report launched at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) flagship event International Energy Conference & Exhibition (IECE) has been drafted with inputs from 33 industry leaders. IECE is a two-day event being held under four tracks of Enabling Energy Access, Energy Transition, Empowering Manufacturing and Enhancing Energy Supply.
The report also recommended to the government that a standardized framework for land use conversion provisions in state RE policies should be established with streamlining of Right of Way compensation, land acquisition and lower costs.
In a section on civil nuclear deal, the report acknowledged limited private sector participation in the sector. It said there were restrictive clauses in the Atomic Energy Act.
Jointly developed by CII and Ernst & Young (EY), the report provides a comprehensive roadmap for achieving a sustainable, low-carbon, and energy-secure India by 2047. It outlines actionable insights across renewable energy, green hydrogen, bioenergy, and nuclear power, while emphasizing the importance of skilling and public-private collaboration.
An ETIM 2.0 Dashboard was also launched. Unveiling the upgraded Energy Transition Investment Monitoring (ETIM) Dashboard, a cutting-edge platform for global investors to track and manage over 1,000 energy transition investment opportunities. The second version includes enhanced features such as:
