The manufacturing sector’s contribution to GDP in India has stagnated at around 15-17 percent for the last several years, which is relatively low for an economy at the stage of development as India’s. In order to help the Indian Manufacturing sector achieve its full potential by 2022 when India celebrates 75 years of independence, we feel that there should be a unifying vision across all sectors of the economy. We have adapted the principles of ‘India@75’ to create a visionary outlook for the Indian manufacturing sector. Manufacturing India@75’ envisions India at the forefront of global manufacturing and trade of goods, a leader in skill-intensive sectors and a global hub of Research & Development (R&D) and design.
