CII in association with ACMA, SIAM, AIA & its knowledge partner Avalon Consulting released a report on “Automation in Manufacturing: Improving Quality and Productivity while Sustaining Competitiveness” during the AutoMach 2013: International Conference on Cost Effective Manufacturing organized by CII on 16 February, 2013 at New Delhi .
It is brought out that Automation is a critical pre-requisite for industrial growth and productivity increase and will create the kind of jobs essential for an aspirational India.
The report outlines the need of automation in the Indian manufacturing sector while addressing preliminary issues of automation, its implementation and implications. From national to state level, this study encapsulates sub-sectorial manufacturing output while comparing with the global fact sheet. It intends to give the basic context of automation for India along with trade output figures to examine the benefits and challenges and to formulate strategies and policies. The macro and micro level impact of automation on the Indian industry are also examined.
