CII is proud to present the coffee table book 'Manufacturing: The India Way', combining colorful images with analytical text to define the trends shaping Indian manufacturing today. The book was released by Hon'ble Mr Manohar Parrikar, Minister of Defense, and Hon'ble Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State (I/C) for Commerce and Industry, during the Make in India Week.
“Manufacturing – The India Way’’ compiles analytical essays from top manufacturing leaders of India on the changes shaping the Indian manufacturing environment today. It demonstrates how India is rapidly forging its own manufacturing identity and defining a new India Way of Manufacturing.
Drawing on the insights of top manufacturing leaders, the book outlines the opportunities emanating from India’s changing economic landscape as well as emerging technologies and new processes. The book is divided into various sections. The first section describes the factors that impart a new momentum to the manufacturing sector and set the foundations for its growth, including large markets, new policies, infrastructure build-up and a vibrant entrepreneurial class. In the second section, we look at how Indian companies are scaling up on competitiveness, and deploying quality tools, technology and innovation while at the same time being conscious of sustainability and social responsibility.
The third part captures the increasing global orientation of Indian manufacturing. In the last section, the trends that will define the Indian manufacturing landscape of the future are outlined, including emerging sectors of opportunity and new technologies. The India Way of manufacturing is rapidly emerging as a new model for the world.
We believe 'Manufacturing: The India Way' will serve as a valuable guidepost to those interested in the aspirations of India to emerge as a manufacturing hub of the world.
