The first ever international conference on Indian Offsets Policy and Procedures was held on 13 February 2008 at New Delhi. Inaugurated by Rao Inderjit Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence Production, Government of India The Seminar attracted participation of over 350 delegates comprising of 130 international participants from 19 countries. Key speakers at the Seminar include Mr R Gopalan, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India; Mr Satyajeet Rajan, Chairman, Defence Offset Facilitation Agency and Joint Secretary (X), Ministry of Defence, Mr T Ramachandru, Joint Secretary (Supplies), Ministry of Defence, Mr Satish Kaura, Chairman CII Manufacturing Council and Chairman Samtel Group of Companies etc. The focus of the Seminar was on issues such as India’s offset practices; Indian offset policy & international experiences and accessing global defence corporations’ supply chains – offset, an asset to Indian business etc.
