A report on ‘Enhanced Energy Efficiency in Industrial Lubrication’ was released at a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Exclusive Session held on 20 November, 2014 at New Delhi.
Enhancing energy efficiency in the industrial sector with the use of high performance energy efficient lubricants in industrial processes could save significant amounts of energy and depending on the exact situation may also contribute to increased equipment operating efficiency and reduced operating costs of the business.
The study explains the basic technicalities behind advanced lubricants i. e. energy efficient lubricants, and also details the various benefits of these lubricants. It also encompasses the results from an online survey that was conducted to assess the current understanding of these energy efficient lubricants and identify the major loopholes hindering its widespread adoption. In addition, appropriate strategies have accordingly been devised to overcome these barriers and facilitate India’s low energy intensive economic growth.
This report was authored by Energy (Technology) team of CII in association with the various stakeholders and in consultation with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA).
