We all are aware of the issue of Contract Labour. Different stakeholders interpret it differently. The companies find it useful for the reasons of flexibility ensuing better competitiveness where as labour find it oppressive and exploitative. CII organized a Seminar on Contract Labour on 28th August 2010 to provide a platform to find a way forward which can provide flexibility to companies as well and takes care of labour benefit. The Seminar was inaugurated by Shri Prabhat Chaturvedi, Labour Secretary, Government of India. Mr Arun Maira, Member, Planning Commission had also participated in the deliberations. The Seminar also showcased the best practices being employed in the Industry with regard to Contract Labour.
The Seminar brought together representatives from Government, Trade Unions, Industry to share their concerns and suggest a way forward. Some of the speakers were Mr Jagdish Khattar, Chairman, CII Industrial Relations Council, Mr K Lakshma Reddy, General Secretary, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Mr Anupam Mallik, Joint Labour Commissioner, Government of Haryana, Mr D L Sharma, MD, Vardhman Yarns & Threads, Mr Michael Dias, Secretary, The Employer’s Association, Mr Rajiv Kapoor, Head HR-IR, JCB Ltd., Mr Soumen Basu, Executive Advisor, Manpower India.
The proceedings available on DVD include speeches of all speakers, presentation and panel discussions.
The cost of DVD is Rs. 1000/- only (all inclusive)
However, a combo of two DVDs (1 of CII Seminar on Contract Labour and 1 of CII HR Conclave 2010) will cost Rs 1500/- only (all inclusive).
