Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) constituted the CII Regional Committee on Central Europe with the objective of enhancing economic relations between India and the Central European Countries. One of the initiatives of the Committee was to undertake the Study on “Trade and Investment Relations between India and Central Europe: A Study of Opportunities” jointly with Deloitte.
The report identifies the key potential industries/sectors of interest for Indian businesses which can drive trade and investment between India and Central European countries. The study concludes that there are enough opportunities for trade and investment enhancement for India in Central European region and vice-a-versa, provided adequate efforts are taken. Important initiatives announced by the respective governments in these countries that may help Indian businesses to enhance their business interests in these countries have been highlighted Overall these opportunities can lead to the benefits of income and employment generation in India adding to India’s growth momentum.
The report was released by Dr E M Sudarsana Natchiappan, Minister for State for Commerce and Industry, Government of India at the conference organised jointly by CII and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on “Promoting Economic Engagement between India and Central / Nordic Region of Europe” on 21 February 2014 at New Delhi.
