With substantial increase in foreign investment in India from the U.S. and a number of Indian companies acquiring companies and/or making investments in the U.S., it has become extremely important to gain an understanding on the responsibilities/liabilities of officers and directors under U.S. laws and gain an understanding on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the safeguards to be kept in mind to ensure compliance with the applicable U.S. laws.
With this background, the Policy & Advocacy Panel of CII Karnataka organized a Special Roundtable Discussion on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) on 13 October 2011 at Hotel Chancery Pavilion, Residency Road, Bangalore. The discussion highlighted liability issues for officers and directors under U.S. Laws as well as recent enforcement trends under the U.S. FCPA.
