CII is conducting the District Development Plan across the country through credible partners. These studies research the skill needs and gaps of the areas and helps to understand the dimensions of the problem and the opportunity. Based on these findings and recommendations, CII would develop strategies to fill these gaps. This could be through advocacies with the respective state governments and interventions through various industrial members and partners.
This district development plan is prepared for the Paschim Medinipur district in West Bengal. This DDP focuses on identifying the current status of the community and the gaps that needs to addressed so that there is an improvement in the livelihood standards as well as in the local economy of the district. Areas concerned are education, health, road connectivity, power, agriculture, social and economy, water conservation, sanitation, skill gap and employability, etc.
