CII has been continuously focusing on enhancing competitiveness for long term growth of the Indian Industry. In the last few years, skill development, employability and corporate social responsibility, have been thrust areas for CII, across the nation. With this focus, a series of initiatives have been driven by CII at regional, state and zonal levels to convert the Human Capital into a Talent Pool to reinforce the competitiveness of the Indian industry. It is widely acknowledged that India will soon be facing a serious manpower shortage.
CII as a part of its Skill Development initiative is focusing on generating an industry ready Human Resource pool. As a first step toward this, CII Eastern Region formed Industry – Institute Consortium, conducted skill gap studies in the four eastern region states of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. The study broadly provided the information about the sectoral skill gap.
A need was felt to extend this exercise further to the district level. As a part of this initiative, CII is carrying out a district level study on Employment Potential Assessment and District Development Plan in the eastern region.
The Employment Potential Assessment and District Development Plan of Jehanabad is one among these series of studies.
