A publication titled “Best Practices Manual – Sugar Industry” was released against the backdrop of the 2nd Green Sugar Summit 2014 organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry on 31 July - 01 August, 2014 at Hyderabad.
The sugar industry is actively taking many steps for continual improvement in energy and the water conservation front. This manual, in its first edition is intended to serve as a reference tool for companies in the Indian Sugar Industry in making their operating and maintenance practices more energy efficient and world class. It represents a compilation of over 25 best practices in the sugar sector through case studies, which are technically feasible, commercially viable and have a high replication potential.
