India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Playing a crucial role in the Indian economy, agri-businesses are estimated to contribute about 30% to the country’s GDP.
This report, prepared by CII and Grant Thornton, sheds light on some of the reformative actions the government has undertaken in terms of policy implementation, legal changes and proactive initiatives in the form of schemes. These reforms ensure seamless backward and forward integration for the processed food sector by plugging the gaps in supply-chain management, availability of raw material and linkages with the market. This report covers the numerous schemes offered by the Central Government and State Governments in North India, so that stakeholders are more aware and can evaluate where they stand and avail government support.
The report was prepared against the backdrop of the CII Agro Tech Conferences 2018 held from 1-4 December 2018 at Chandigarh.
