The report, through interviews with the leaders of 20 prominent multinationals, chronicles the journey of MNCs in India, their contributions to the country and continued evolution, as well as proposing the way forward. These leaders reflect upon their organisation’s journey in India through the years, as the nation carves out its niche amidst a shifting world balance. The report traces the true impact that these organizations have had on the country’s economic, social, and cultural dynamics, while highlighting their contribution on a range of pertinent topics such as employment generation, capital investment, ecosystem creation, technology, and social and CSR initiatives.
The report dwells on the following three key themes – (i) Aatmanirbhar Bharat, (ii) Enablers, and (iii) and Purpose, wherein each theme has its subsequent set of devoted chapters such as : From independence to self- reliance, Made in India, A shifting world balance, Steering skills to India, Rediscovering research, Patently correct, and Battling the pandemic, amongst others.
The report was launched by Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, at a session at the World Economic Forum 2022, Davos.
