The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS), IIFT has recently conducted a research study titled “India’s Outward Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI): Trends, Direction, and Policy Recommendations for the Future.”
Along with inward investments in the form of FDI and FPI, there is also a need to promote outward foreign direct investment to enhance exports and make Indian industry more competitive. In this backdrop, the report focuses on key destinations of India’s outward FDI and has analysed the sectors in which it has comparative advantage mapping them with our competitors in those countries and also suggested a new OFDI policy and given recommendations to the Government to ensure sustained outflow of FDI from India.
