23 September. Channai. Confederation of Indian Industry, CII Coimbatore Zone organized a Special Interaction with Mr Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Hon’ble Minister for School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, at Coimbatore today.
Representatives from various private schools and office bearers of school association, met with Hon’ble Minister on the CII occasion and discussed on some of the key points of importance for current phase of school education and also on the future of schooling. They also submitted a representation to Hon’ble Minister highlighting the current issues faced by the school management, given the pandemic which has severely impacted students, apart from parents and academicians.
Hon’ble Minister noted all the facts and issues presented by members and stated that all the recommendations submitted will be taken forward with the concerned officials from the Government. Some of the issues highlighted included, difficulties faced in online schooling, physical education for children, regulatory approvals including Building Tax, RTO related approvals etc. He also assured that many of these issues are already in deliberation with senior officials in Government and also with the Hon’ble Chief Minister, who has specially asked to give additional focus to school education.
He also emphasized that the Government & Private schools should function in tandem towards providing an equitable delivery of education to all students studying across several boards in the state. He encouraged cross learning among faculty from across these boards to enhance the teaching – learning process and assured that efforts in this direction will also be undertaken by the Government.
Hon’ble Minister also mentioned that the school management should provide adequate facilities in the best interest of children from rural background. He made a special mention and a request to the school representatives to provide more inclusivity in the enrollment of students including students with special requirements.
Hon’ble Minister assured that the School Education Ministry will provide all possible support in removing the hurdles faced in day-to-day operations of schools in the post-pandemic situation ensuring a smoother transitioning to regular functioning of schools in the state, eventually.
