"No pregnant woman or child should die due to any preventable cause of death", commented Dr Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, during the Inaugural Session of the Asia Health 2019, held from16-18 October 2019 at New Delhi. The Minister emphasised that every child in India should get the vaccine, as a part of the Universal Immunisation Programme.  

The Minister said that a preventive and promotive approach towards health is very important and should accompany a proper medical education for the patient. For a country as big as India, implementing Ayushman Bharat is highly laudable.
