The nature of work is fast changing, driven by unprecedented technological progress and climate imperatives. While these developments are creating new opportunities, they are also necessitating an environment where workers will have to continuously upgrade their skillsets. Many jobs will become redundant. Gig work will continue to grow. This session will focus on how the existing social protection architecture can be strengthened to provide social protection to workers and employees in this new environment and how issues of upskilling and reskilling can be addressed.
