CII, under the aegis of its Task Force on Ease of Doing Business, works closely with the government, both at the Central as well as state levels, for improving the business climate in India by enhancing the simplification, transparency and efficiency in regulatory processes and procedures. We endeavour to help the country sustain the improvement in the global Doing Business ranking of the World Bank, which has moved up sharply from the 142nd position in 2014 to the 77th position now. With a view to ensure that business reforms are implemented across states and union territories in India, CII engages with the stakeholders at regional, state and district level and also represents their issues at the Centre (DPIIT).
As part of our policy advocacy, CII has been conducting regular surveys among the industry members to assess the impact of reforms and generate the feedback from industry for further policy interventions. Attempt is also made to reduce the information asymmetry about the business reforms through various mediums such as regular publications, conferences and meetings. We also organize regular interactions of the industry with relevant policy makers to resolve the regulatory and other policy issues in the purview of ease of doing business.
