India has the potential to become the Factory of the World in Agri Machinery.”
- Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Government of India at 3rd edition of CII-TMA Summit on Farm Machinery Technology

India is the world’s largest tractor manufacturer with significant share of exports however this has not translated in exports of implements, harvesters, combines etc. Due to its inherent strengths in automotive & engineering sector along with large market for agri machinery, low-labor costs, trained workforce, an industrialized economy India is well positioned to be factory of the world in manufacturing agri machinery.

To encourage international agri machinery manufacturers to setup plants/sourcing from India would require enabling policies, incentives, technical / manufacturing tie-ups with global players.

At the Inaugural Session of 3rd edition of CII’s Summit on Farm Machinery Technology organized in collaboration TMA (Tractor and Mechanization Association), Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar hailed the immense work done by scientists and specialists of R & D to be able to bring forth the technologies that can be used by the farmers in their fields and therefore achieve more productivity and specially so with the challenges of demand of food for the burgeoning population of India.

He also mentioned that industry friendly policies of Central Government in the last 7 to 8 years have always focussed on encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. While congratulating CII and TMA for taking up a very future oriented theme for today’s session, he expressed his confidence of India being the Global Leader in Agri Machinery.

Mr Bharatendu Kapoor, Summit Chairman & President - Sales & Marketing, TAFE Ltd welcomed the thoughts of Shri Tomar and proudly claimed the strength of India as No.1 exporter of Tractors to the world. There is tremendous self-reliance that the country has today in terms of food production, but this can only be sustained for the population of next 2 to 3 decades if the implements manufacturers also join the revolution of technology and product innovation by focussing more on precision agriculture.

The 2-day program will cover conferences, vendor development program & exhibition on new technologies & design innovations from 27-28 April 2023 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The Summit brings together the OEMs in farm machinery, policy makers, technology suppliers, product development & design firms to deliberate how government policies, advent of new technologies and product design innovations can address challenges and chart the growth path for the sector.

Key highlights of the Summit include participation of 25 distinguished speakers, more than 130 industry delegates, and 23 exhibitors from farm components, equipment, machinery, technology, and tractor manufacturers/OEMs.
