CII has been working on the skills agenda since 1987 in partnership with the Industry and government to build a robust and aspirational skill ecosystem in India. CII-Rahul Bajaj Centre of Excellence on Skills acts as a bridge between Industry & youth, impacting over 1 million youth annually.
Objectives
- Curating talent sourcing for the Industry
- Creating Industry-ready skilled talent pool through skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling programmes
- Aligning Industry curriculum to the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) and enabling issuance of Government validated credit-based certificates
- Leveraging Recruit-Train-Deploy (RTD) model to map Industry demands, mobilise candidates, coordinate Industry-led training and facilitate employment

Supporting Government Initiatives on Employment
- Working with Ministry of Labour & Employment on Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Schemes to establish 100 E2E (Education to Employment) centres
- Working with Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for Upgradation of 1000 ITIs, Awarding Body & Apprenticeship
- Working with Ministry of Corporate Affairs on Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme
- Working with NITI Aayog for leveraging frontier tech for inclusive human capital development
- Working with Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education for AICTE Faculty Fellowship
- Working closely with various state governments on skills & employment

- Partnership with Cosmos Creative Academy to deliver 18-month Advanced Graphic Design, Animation & VFX Diploma
- Partnership with the Industry to offer customised programmes in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance ( BFSI)

Alignment of Industry Skill Training with NSQF - CII is an Awarding Body under the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)
- Aligning skill training with National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) levels
- Enabling issuance of government validated credit-based CII-Industry-GoI cobranded certificate
Apprenticeship - Providing apprenticeship service to Industry as a certified Third Party Aggregator (TPA)
- End-to-end services related to mobilisation, registration, training, monitoring, assessment, and certification
- Facilitating reimbursement under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)
International Mobility Pathways - Mobility of Indian talent to countries like Japan, Finland, Australia, South Korea, Germany, France, Middle East, etc.
- Sectors- Ship Painters & Sand Blasters, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Car Mechanic, Healthcare Workers, Construction Technicians, etc.
- 6 months pre–departure training on language and culture.
CSR Solutions to Industry - Focus on women, SC/ST, Transgender, PwDs & Marginalised Section
